I am the Math department chair here at Centennial, and I teach all math, all day!! I have a passion for math, and my goal is to share that paaion with the students here, and even to have some of it rub off on them. I like to say that I laugh them and love them into learning, and that is a great insight into how I deliver my curriculum and present information. My greatest hope is that my students not only learn a little math, but also have a little fun in the process and maybe even fall in love with math...just a little. ;-)
Additionally, at the end of last year I started the Afternoon Fit Club. This group provides students an opportuntiy to participate in a free workout, two days a week, after school. I have made great changes in my life to improve my overall wellness through my fitness and nutrition. This has spawned a huge passion in me, one that I feel carries an incredibly important message about caring for yourself from the inside out and that I would like to share with our students. through this club, I am able to share important nutiritional facts and insights with students, while providing them a free workout opportunity twice a week. I hope that my dedication and interste in personal wellness, will motivate, inspire and even rub-off on the students who participate.
I started teaching at Centennial during the "construction year," the 2003-2004 school year. So, this is my 12th year teaching math at CHS, and I LOVE it!!
I love working somewhere that values individuals. I love that I know ALL of my students and have a presonal relationship with each of them. It is a special school founded in the nurturing delivery of academics while focusing on treating others with dignity and respect. I cannot imagine a better platform upon which to build a school.
I thoroughly enjoy being outdoors in the beautiful Colorado sunshine! I love to ride my bike, hike, run, walk, and swim. I have an amazing family who mean the world to me. My husband and I love taking our time at home to spend with our beautiful daughters. We love sharing our passion for the outdoors with them. I also love focusing on my personal fitness and nutrition. This finds me spending mornings working out daily and after school hours at home creating delicious, healthy, clean, whole food meals for my family to enjoy.
Be yourself, and know that you came into this world EXACTLY as you were meant to be. Honor your true self, do your best, focus on your best intentions, and keep fighting when you feel you don't have any more energy to muster. the first important step to completion is never giving up on yourself or your goals.
This school year I am teaching: Algebra I, Algebra II, College Algebra, Data Analysis and Probability during 1st semester, and Discrete Math during 2nd semester.
