Centennial Admission Process

Centennial High School follows a Hexter (6-week block) schedule of six Hexters per school year. Approximately 20 new students are admitted to Centennial every six weeks.  The students who are admitted with start in the Discovery program for the first 6-weeks of their time at Centennial.  Upon successful completion of Discovery, they will then enter into the 5-period day. Students are selected based on the criteria below.

All prospective students must:

  • Attend an Orientation.  The orientation sessions are held every six weeks promptly at 8:30 AM or 5:30 PM in our gym.  If you are an out-of-district student, please bring a copy of your transcripts with you; otherwise, there is no need to bring anything with you.  Please make sure you are early as you will not be considered for acceptance if you are late.
  • Complete Required Paperwork. You will receive an enrollment packet at the orientation. This will be due at the student interview.
  • Attend a one-one-one interview with a CHS counselor or administrator.  Appointments are scheduled at Orientation.  Arrive early for your appointment.

Once these steps are completed, students are notified of their acceptance or non-acceptance by phone and email before the Hexter begins.

Plan now and ask for a reference letter from a trusted adult (not a parent, peer, or self) such as a counselor, teacher, administrator, employer, or therapist. There is a reference form in the enrollment packet or your reference can write a separate, personal letter.
Bring the form/letter to your interview after Orientation or have your reference person email it directly to Centennial's Registrar, Kris Lee, at krisl@psdschools.org.

Ask your reference to address the following details:

  • How long have you known this student? How did you meet the student?
  • Please address the student’s desire to identify areas of change to explore and offer evidence of his/her/their potential success.
  • Why do you think the student would be a good fit at Centennial?
