Peer Mediators

CHS Peer Mediation Program

Centennial High School is a community where students use their skills to take care of business and leave their problems at the door.  Sometimes, these problems aren't left behind.  This is where our Peer Mediation program is very helpful in keeping our culture and community in tact.  Each year, staff-chosen students are trained as peer mediators.  Peer Mediation is a peer-led conflict resolution model.  Through this process, the two individuals in conflict will get the time to express themselves without interruption. The mediators guide them through a process that concludes with the signing of a contract everyone can agree on.  The peer mediators of CHS become leaders in our school community and help maintain peaceful interactions between everyone in the school community.
